Gregory Schoenborn
Owner of Ravensworth Studios, Gregory has been a musician his entire life…thanks to his first electric guitar for Christmas when he was 10 years old. While his primary instrument is bass guitar, he finds himself attracted to anything with strings.
A four-time Whammy nominee (Washington Area Music Association), Greg has gigged and recorded with a number of people over the years. He has also played in great venues such as...The 930 Club in Washington D.C., The State Theater in Falls Church, VA, The Iota Club in Arlington, VA, the Agora Ballroom in Miami, FL, and many more!
Always interested in production work, Greg operated out of a home studio for years…until now. Having the opportunity to design and construct a full-fledged recording and video production facility has been a fantastic journey.
Give Greg a call at 434.286.7200 to schedule a personal tour or touch base via email: greg@ravensworthstudios.com.

Joey Vagus
A graduate of Full Sail University and self-proclaimed “Guitar God”, Joey Vagus is resident Sound Engineer for Ravensworth Studios. His engineering experience includes everything from recording and mixing to video post-production sound tracking and editing. Joey’s creativity and humor are an equal match to his recording skills! He has been an integral part of Ravensworth Studios since its Scottsville inception and has greatly assisted with the new studio plans and acoustic design. When not gigging with several local bands, including The SeeDZ, Joey can often be found writing and recording his own projects…stayed tuned for more!
Also employed by Charlottesville-based Innovative Audio & Sound, Joey provides custom audio-visual engineering services and sound reinforcement for numerous clients, organizations, and special events. Yet another Vagus enterprise is “Rhythm on the River”, a 12-year tradition of live, outdoor music every summer at Scottsville’s scenic Canal Basin Square. Rhythm on the River is a non-profit organization, which Ravensworth Studios is proud to support…in our joint endeavors to increase awareness, interest, and appreciation for the rich music mine that is Central Virginia!
Call Joey at 434.286.7200 or email joey@ravensworthstudios.com to discuss your next project.

Sean Witt
The on-board recording gear for Ravensworth Studios was custom-configured by Sean Witt, a graduate of SAE Institute – London. Fresh out of school, Sean was immediately hired by Pete Townsend and The Who. For the next two years, Sean trained and worked on projects including engineer credits for The Who's album "Endless Wire". Sean still works for Pete on an "on-call" basis, most recently in LA for a commercial gig.
While working in Northern Virginia and performing with DC-based indie band, Boxspring Hog, Sean met Greg…and subsequently spent the next three years on the implementation of a complete DAW environment for Greg’s home-based projstudio in Alexandria, VA. As manager of The Guitar Center in Falls Church, Sean single-handedly spiked monthly sales figures while advising and outfitting Greg with additional instruments, mics, and other gear.
Sean recently transferred with The Guitar Center to another store management position in Clearlake, TX. Edging ever closer to the music scene in Austin, Sean is pursuing additional music opportunities and focusing on a wider range of recording and engineering projects. In between his travels (including a recent trip to China), Sean’s mad mastering skills are available to Ravensworth Studios clients on a special project basis.

Elizabeth Schoenborn
Elizabeth Schoenborn (married to Gregory) is the go-to gal for anything and everything related to Ravensworth Studios. As Studio Manager, she not only handles booking, marketing, and finances, but will also ensure that you have the tools and supplies to make your session as productive as possible …right down to a plate of homemade cookies.
Whether it’s stocking the fridge with your favorites, arranging for a piano tuner, resolving last-minute gear requests, locating spare guitar strings, or coordinating meals, lodging, and transportation …Elizabeth strives to offer the ultimate client-driven experience in the most perfect surroundings.
Elizabeth’s musical experience is limited to childhood piano and violin lessons, but she has an ear for what sounds good and an eye for what looks great. With her degree in Communication Arts Technology (albeit "technology" was quite a bit different then than now), Elizabeth continues to develop her photography skills and is now thrilled to assist with video production and editing. However, her proudest production moments have been as “stage mom” to her rather talented daughter, Allison Kinney (see below).
For any questions or to book your next audio or video project, please call Elizabeth at 434.286.7200 or send an email to: elizabeth@ravensworthstudios.com.

Allison Kinney
Allison Kinney (Mom, Elizabeth and Step-Daddio, Greg) is currently a senior at James Madison University’s School of Music majoring in Music Industry (learning ProTools!) and a member of and Music Director for Note-Oriety, JMU’s premier a cappella female group.
Always the busy girl, Allison hosts a weekly time slot on WXJM Radio 88.7 Harrisonburg, serving up her own selection of progressive/indie music. She also works occasional special events for Charlottesville-based Innovative Audio & Sound, including ski season, slope-side sound reinforcement for Wintergreen Resort. (The mountain is visible from Ravensworth Studios…just a short 45 minute-drive away!)
And a part-time business start-up is in the works…"DJ A-Money" will soon be available, with full audio gear, to rock your next event. Finally, no mention of Allison would be complete without a shout-out for her long-running blog…Biddiewatch, a showcase of comedy writing and ranting.
After spending Summer 2010 in Brooklyn, interning at both Hank Lane Music & Productions and Comical Radio WBMB 87.9 New York (interviewing such guests as Sean Lennon), Allison has plans to immediately move to NYC upon graduation. However…Ravensworth Studios hopes to have many opportunities to collaborate with her in the future, both in front of the mic and working the boards.
